On ne présente plus ce musicien singulier et profond, engagé depuis de
longues années dans un travail d’exploration de son continent intérieur,
soucieux de repousser les limites esthétiques de son instrument. Dans le
prolongement de son album ? Entremundo ? (chez Enja/Harmonia Mundi) il nous
invite à un voyage immobile à l’intérieur de sa mémoire et de son imagination,
entre Orient et Occident? « J’aime la thématique du voyage dans la musique en
général, car elle permet au compositeur comme à l’auditeur une ouverture sur
tous les imaginaires, tous les scénarios. J’ai le sentiment que le plus beau des
voyages, c’est celui que nous pouvons réaliser par nous-mêmes, dans notre
esprit » confie-t-il. Avec Antonio Ruiz à la guitare flamenca et Keyvan
Chemirani aux percussions. Toutes les musiques du monde se répondent dans ce
trio majeur.
