Depuis 17 ans, Gérard Verba, directeur des Rencontres, prône dans sa programmation la diversité des univers esthétiques et des interprètes, alternant grandes pièces classiques et créations contemporaines. Un prestigieux concours international de guitare, dont le jury sera cette année présidé par le grand compositeur Cubain Léo Brouwer, se déroulera parallèlement à cette série de concerts (finale en public le 4 avril). Coup d’envoi le 1er avril avec un concert des élèves de guitare des conservatoires des Hauts-de-Bièvres. Suivront dans les jours suivants un hommage à Léo Brouwer par Marco Tamayo et Anabel Montesinos, la constitution au sein d’un ensemble de 24 guitares de « la cité des 1000 cordes », un voyage vers « l’Argentine et le Tango », culminant avec le concerto pour guitare et bandonéon de Piazzolla et la création d’un concerto pour guitare électrique d’Yvan Bellocq, avec Gérard Verba (guitare) et Juan José Mosalini Junior (bandonéon) en solistes, et enfin en concert de clôture, différents visages de la guitare en compagnie du jeune Adrien Maza, lauréat du concours 2008, du duo guitare et clavecin d’Eva Tsin et Hiroko Nakayama, du Trio « Sin Fronteras » et du grand Roland Dyens.
