Il n’est pas un lieu, ni une heure, qui ne seront musicaux. Les Vêpres de la Vierge de Monteverdi (par Arsys Bourgogne et l’Ensemble La Fenice), la Passion selon saint Jean de Bach (par l’ensemble Aedes et Les Surprises) ou encore le répertoire choral hongrois a capella (par le Chœur Magnificat de Budapest) ont les honneurs des soirées dans la Basilique Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. D’autres concerts se tiennent dans les églises des communes voisines : l’Ensemble Gilles Binchois en la collégiale d’Avallon pour un programme de polyphonies espagnoles et italiennes, les Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart qui confronte les musiques de la Renaissance à celles de la compositrice contemporaine Katharina Rosenberger. Mais les formes plus légères, qui s’accommodent du plein air ou d’espaces plus intimes, ont aussi droit de cité : elles précèdent et prolongent les concerts, jusque dans la nuit. Enfin, le dimanche 21 août, l’ensemble Les Surprises de Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas participera, dans la basilique, à la célébration en musique de l’office religieux.
