C’est au plus loin de Paris, à l’écart des métropoles, que la France s’exprime le mieux comme terre de festivals. Située au pied du massif du Sancy, la ville du Mont-Dore – et sa voisine thermale La Bourboule – accueillent depuis vingt ans un festival doublé d’ateliers pédagogiques à destination des jeunes musiciens. La formation locale, l’Orchestre symphonique des Dômes, qui fête comme le festival ses vingt-cinq ans d’existence, sera dès le 20 juin en l’église du Mont-Dore. Deux autres formations invitées, l’Orchestre de chambre des Cévennes (le 2 août) et surtout l’Orchestre d’Auvergne (le 18 août), sont au programme. Ce dernier, dirigé par l’excellent Arie van Beek, accompagnera la soprano Nobuko Takahashi dans des airs de concert de Mozart. Largement dévolus aux intervenants des stages de formation musicale, les concerts de musique de chambre permettront de retrouver le trompettiste Guy Touvron, le pianiste Gérard Ghanassia, le violoniste Frédéric Pelassy ou le hautboïste Jacques Vandeville.
