En préambule à ce festival proposant cette année pas moins de vingt concerts, son directeur Georges Zeisel rappelle les axes qui sous-tendent sa programmation : « La découverte d’un répertoire interprété par les musiciens les plus talentueux de leur génération, et celle d’un patrimoine préservé dans le Sud de la région parisienne, depuis les églises des petits villages environnants jusqu’aux salles prestigieuses du Château de Fontainebleau ». La thématique de l’édition 2008 du festival fera voyager les spectateurs du côté de l’Europe occidentale et septentrionale. Premiers concerts, les 16 et 17 mai, en compagnie des Quatuor Thymos (France), Quatuor Amati (Suisse), Trio Spirale (Belgique) et Trio Archiduc (France), puis une série de rendez-vous dédiés à des compositeurs contemporains : un programme entièrement dédié au bandonéoniste et compositeur norvégien Per Arne Glorvigen (le 18), une création française de la finlandaise Kaija Saariaho par le Quatuor Meta4 (le 24), un concert-découverte autour de la musique des belges Philippe Boesmans et Jean-Paul Dessy par le Quatuor Tana (le 31), etc…
