Elle a la fantaisie bien bariolée et lui raffole des mondes étranges où l’imaginaire caracole en liberté. Tous deux ont l’extravagance en partage et inventent à plaisir des histoires futuristes délirantes qui bousculent le réel sens dessus dessous : la chorégraphe brésilienne Marcia Barcellos et le musicien-compositeur Karl Biscuit font bonne paire depuis qu’ils ont mis au point le Système Castafiore, en 1990. « Pour donner vie à nos idées de départ, nous avons recours au « bricolage », car ce mode artisanal d’expérimentation a de tout temps été une source sûre de magie, avoue-t-il. « Karl propose des espaces étranges, borgiens, kafkaïens, qui lui viennent de lectures, de films. Il échafaude des labyrinthes dans lesquels j’aime me glisser et circuler librement, méthodiquement, sans me soucier des conventions. » rajoute-t-elle. Pour Renée en botaniste dans les plans hyperboles, leur dernière fantasmagorie pour cinq danseurs et beaucoup d’images, ils s’aventurent dans la mémoire d’une femme qui bascule dans l’autre monde. Fragments de vie, bribes de souvenirs, réminiscences troubles, inconsciences oubliées… composent le paysage mouvant de ce voyage sensoriel aux lisières de la métaphysique et du merveilleux.
