« Bastia, l’été prochain. Enfoui dans l’entrée d’une pension modeste de la vieille ville, un homme – Marc Aurèle – semble se souvenir d’un vieux western américain. Un autre homme est là. C’est Dean Martin. » Ainsi s’ouvre Reprise d’un triomphe, de Noël Casale… Que peuvent bien faire ensemble un empereur romain, philosophe stoïcien ressassant son discours, et un acteur, crooner américain s’initiant à l’archéologie, bientôt rejoints par un troisième homme : Ulysse ? Sous-titrée « Le songe d’une nuit bastiaise », la pièce ne laisse pas d’intriguer… Radiographiant la communauté corse, où les non-dits souvent macèrent des années avant d’exploser dans un accès de violence, l’auteur et metteur en scène natif de Bastia creuse le rapport à la parole, dans la continuité de ses premières pièces : vivante ou mortifère dans Clémence, empêchée dans Liberty Valance est mort, débridée dans Forza Bastia, la parole est continuellement ambigüe dans Reprise d’un triomphe. En scène, Noël Casale, Hubertus Biermann et Pascal Omhovère mettent en jeu et en question les mots qui cachent la réalité… mais dévoilent la vérité des êtres.
