« Il s’agira pour nous, autant que nous le pouvons, de partager la terrible beauté de cette langue, son exigence et sa simplicité ; de faire entendre, d’une façon ou d’une autre, la résistance de tout un peuple – car c’est bien de cela qu’il s’agit. », dit André Markowicz. Interdite de publication par le régime stalinien, Anna Akhmatova parvient à faire circuler les douze poèmes et la préface de Requiem en les confiant à la mémoire de ses amis. Ce concert-lecture propose une expérience similaire : « confier, dans l’instant, les mots parlés, langues mélangées ; délivrer les poèmes dans l’immédiateté, de bouche à oreille, de cœur à cœur ». La violoncelliste Sonia Wieder-Atherton a choisi la troisième suite pour violoncelle seul, opus 87, de Benjamin Britten, afin d’ouvrir « un espace sonore inattendu, hors de toute illustration. Le dialogue entre les cordes et la voix s’installe pourtant comme une évidence, tant la charge émotionnelle et l’épure formelle des deux matériaux se font écho ».
