« Déterrer les mots » à défaut de ne pas pouvoir « déterrer les morts », les victimes de massacres et de viols de nos temps cruels, c’est l’entreprise à laquelle s’emploie Igor Mendjiski dans la mise en scène de Rêves de Wajdi Mouawad. Un jeune auteur, Willem, est confronté à l’écriture et à la réalité brute d’un monde qui ne supporte pas le rêve. D’où la rage, le déversement de la colère du jeune homme protégé de la violence par le confort occidental et que hantent cependant les horreurs de la terre. L’écrivain entre dans une chambre d’hôtel et passe une nuit blanche à jeter sur le papier des mots, prélude peut-être à un roman à venir. Rêves, imagination, les rencontres se multiplient, et les personnages tiennent lieu de partenaires avec lesquels Willem dialogue. Une rencontre particulière détermine l’accomplissement de l’œuvre à laquelle s’attache l’écrivain. Cette figure est l’Hôtelière, « une femme qui n’a jamais été hantée par ce genre de questions, mais sur qui le destin vient de se précipiter ». La remuante Compagnie des Sans Cou signe un spectacle vif entre songes obscurs et apparitions lumineuses. À découvrir.
