Depuis 1985, Georges Appaix explore les relations entre la voix et le corps, les mots et les gestes, le rythme de la langue et de la chorégraphie, en compagnie des danseurs qui suivent son travail (depuis de longues années pour la plupart) et d’Olivier Renouf, réalisateur sonore. Pour Rien que cette ampoule dans l’obscurité du théâtre, il prend pour matériau de base un texte, celui qu’il a écrit pour une pièce précédente, le solo Question de goûts. Or ce texte pose une question fondamentale sur la notion même de spectacle : celle du parcours qui conduit à la création d’une forme spectaculaire. Rien que cette ampoule dans l’obscurité du théâtre propose donc de considérer le plateau comme une page blanche. Que peut-on y écrire ? Comment le premier mot, le premier geste, la première note de musique apparaîtront-ils ? En toute simplicité, Georges Appaix et ses complices nous proposent ainsi de refaire le chemin de cette étrange activité qui consiste à construire un spectacle. Et au fil du trajet, on réalise que la question n’est pas celle du « thème » (de quoi va-t-il s’agir ?) mais bien celle du partage : quelle relation avec le spectateur veut-on essayer de vivre ?
