C’est en la personne de Richard Galliano que Raghunath Manet a trouvé une nouvelle opportunité de faire résonner les accents indiens de sa veena. Réunis sur le plateau, l’accordéoniste et le danseur entament un dialogue sur le mode jazzy, portés par leurs compositions originales. Il y va de leur rencontre comme de la world music : un mélange des genres, des instruments étrangers l’un à l’autre qui se répondent, des onomatopées rythmiques très typées qui font swinguer la musique. Le danseur et musicien Raghunath Manet n’en est pas à son coup d’essai dans sa tentative de confronter le bharata natyam à d’autres modes d’expression : on se souvient de sa rencontre avec Carolyn Carlson, ou avec le violoniste Didier Lockwood ; à chaque fois la virtuosité et le talent de l’artiste s’expriment et prennent place face à ce qui pourrait être une rencontre incongrue. Il prouve également la grande modernité de sa danse qui se plie aux expériences singulières.
