Artiste associé au Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, le chef d’orchestre David Stern met un point d’honneur à donner des ouvrages tombés dans l’oubli. Après Orpheus de Telemann en 2010, le fils du célèbre violoniste dirige ce mois-ci Rita ou le mari battu de Donizetti. Créé en 1860, cet opéra bouffe, écrit en français, est d’une verve comique absolument délicieuse. On retrouve bien sûr tout le génie mélodique du compositeur de L’Elixir d’amour. Donné ici en version de concert, cet opéra nous permettra d’apprécier les jeunes voix de Camille Poul, Matthieu Abelli et Pierrick Boisseau. Mais surtout, ce sera l’occasion, rare, d’entendre grâce à l’Orchestre Opera Fuoco la musique de Donizetti sur instruments d’époque.
