Des livres en piles et des notes en pagaille, des factures en souffrance, des chagrins d’amour… un poulet congelé. Robert Plankett, metteur en scène contemporain, s’en est allé brusquement, laissant la béance de son absence au cœur de ses proches. Ses amis, sa compagne et une cousine germaine se retrouvent dans sa maison, face à cette mort prématurée. Ils trient ses affaires, se confrontent au vide, résilient ses contrats, débarrassent son frigo… Autant de menues tâches qui effeuillent les histoires passées et libèrent les souvenirs coincés dans les craquelures du temps. Autant de mots qui crayonnent à petits traits le portrait ambigu du disparu. Peu à peu aussi, les échardes de la mémoire s’engouffrent dans les failles du présent, fouillent les rides sombres du deuil, griffent le réel pour y creuser la brèche d’une échappée secrète.
Le gouffre de la perte
Rassemblant des acteurs, des metteurs en scènes et une scénographe qui se sont rencontrés au cours de leur formation, le collectif La Vie Brève a composé la pièce à même le plateau, à partir de différents matériaux : littérature, documentaire, anecdotes personnelles, films, peinture, etc. Cette démarche s’ancre dans une expérience que certains ont menée avec le metteur en scène hongrois Arpad Schilling, qui consistait « à questionner les outils de représentation et à considérer l’acteur non pas comme un simple interprète mais comme un auteur/créateur. », raconte Jeanne Candel, jeune metteuse en scène. Empruntant le mot à Roland Barthes, elle pratique ici l’art de la « griffure », pour provoquer « l’incursion dans des scènes réalistes de gestes ou d’images qui pourront composer un poème scénique ». D’une situation réaliste, Robert Plankett glisse vers le for intérieur de chacun et révèle ainsi leurs émotions intimes face au gouffre de la perte.
