Incontestable temps fort de la saison du Châtelet, le générique de cette plus
que prometteuse production a de quoi laisser rêveur : Emmanuelle Haïm pour la
direction musicale, Robert Wilson pour la mise en scène, les lumières et les
décors, Frida Parmeggiani pour les costumes, Lucinda Childs pour la
chorégraphie, le contre-ténor Andreas Scholl en tête de distribution vocale?
Mettre en scène La Passion selon saint Jean de Bach peut sembler, à
première vue, une idée étrange. Il est pourtant devenu fréquent que les deux
grandes Passions du Cantor retiennent l’attention des metteurs en scène. Une
mode heureuse? La beauté absolue de la musique mais aussi sa force dramatique,
la possibilité d’individualiser des personnages (Jésus, Pierre) et l’alternance,
dans le découpage du livret, de récits et d’airs rapprochent ces partitions du
monde de l’opéra. Avec l’Orchestre et Ch?ur du Concert d’Astrée. Signalons au
passage la sortie, chez Harmonia Mundi, d’un disque de duos de Haendel
enregistrés par Andreas Scholl en compagnie d’Hélène Guilmette (soprano).
