Son dernier disque « Sicilien » (Deutsche Grammophon) l’a confirmé : Roberto Alagna est de plus en plus présent dans le domaine du crossover. Que les amateurs d’opéras se rassurent : il reste néanmoins fidèle au grand répertoire lyrique. Au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, il propose ainsi un hommage au célèbre ténor Enrico Caruso, qui constitue sans doute un modèle pour notre star nationale. L’accompagnement est assuré par l’Orchestre Lamoureux dirigé par Ariane Matiakh. Quelques jours plus tard, dans le cadre sublime du Bassin de Neptune du Château de Versailles, Alagna chantera des airs d’opéras français de l’époque révolutionnaire (Gretry, Cherubini, Mehul, Berlioz…), avec l’Orchestre de Paris dirigé par Michel Plasson. Deux occasions de retrouver l’une des voix les plus remarquables du moment, qui séduit toujours par la clarté de sa diction et par sa projection insolente.
