Blanca Li a fait les choses en grand : entourée par les meilleurs spécialistes de la robotique (Aldebaran Robotics), ou par l’esthétique rétro-futuriste du collectif japonais Maywa Denki, la chorégraphe a imaginé la rencontre entre le danseur et le robot, entre l’homme et la machine. Qu’est-ce qui est mécanique, qu’est-ce qui ne l’est pas ? On la sait parfois friande de mouvements réglés au millimètre et dansés par des virtuoses : c’est une mécanique qu’elle maîtrise parfaitement et qui rythme le spectacle. Mais quand les automates prennent le relais, et que l’on tombe sous le charme de leur poésie musicale, alors les frontières deviennent poreuses. Où et comment s’expose la sensibilité ? L’arrivée d’une cohorte de robots Nao, qui défient la gravité et deviennent des danseurs à part entière, achèvera de nous troubler. La danse s’exprime là où on ne l’attend pas, dommage que des moments d’humour un peu lourd viennent appesantir le spectacle.
