OPERA EN VERSION DE CONCERT / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
Hormis l’air « Vivi Tiranno », régulièrement au programme des récitals de contreténor ou d’alto, Rodelinda de Haendel reste peu connu des mélomanes. Créé à Londres en 1725, cet opéra séria en trois actes s’inspire d’une pièce de Pierre Corneille : Pertharite, roi des Lombards. Une intrigue dramatico-sentimentale qui permet à Haendel de déployer tout son art de la mélodie et de l’instrumentation. A défaut de voir cet ouvrage en version scénique, on ira le découvrir en concert au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, servi par une distribution plus qu’alléchante : Karina Gauvin, au timbre aérien, dans le rôle titre, l’acrobatique Sonia Prina en Bertarido (l’air « Vivi Tiranno », ce sera elle !) ou encore l’idoine Topi Lehtipuu en Grimoaldo. Les musiciens du Complesso Barocco sont dirigés par Alan Curtis, dont l’érudition musicologique compense une direction parfois approximative.
