« Oui tu es belle, mon amie ! Oui tu es belle ! Tes yeux sont des yeux de colombe, sous les plis de ton voile. » Le Cantique des Cantiques est l’un des plus beaux chants d’amour de la littérature universelle. Un chef-d’œuvre poétique qu’a revisité Rodolphe Burger lors du mariage d’Alain Bashung et Chloé Mons. Dix ans plus tard, il y ajoute les écrits du poète Mahmoud Darwich, intitulés S’envolent les colombes. S’ils entrent en empathique résonance, ces deux textes sont surtout relus et reliés par des musiciens de tous horizons, tous ouverts d’esprit : le chanteur Ruth Rosenthal du groupe Winter Family, le Libanais Rayess Bek, Yves Dormoy à la clarinette et aux manipulations électroniques, le prodigieux oudiste Mehdi Haddab, et Julien Perraudeau à la basse et aux claviers. C’est en réalité une véritable « carte blanche » que la Maison de la Musique de Nanterre confie à Rodolphe Burger qui, avant ces deux soirées poétiques (les 9 et 10/02), aura réitéré l’expérience de ses concerts dessinés (les 19 et 20/01), proposition très visuelle au cours de laquelle les auteurs de BD Berberian et Dupuy illustrent en direct, dans un esprit d’improvisation, la musique du guitariste.
