La carrière de Rolando Villazon a connu ces derniers mois des soubresauts en tous genres. Suite à une opération chirurgicale, le ténor a dû annuler un grand nombre de concerts. En parallèle, il s’est lancé dans des projets « crossover », notamment de mélodies mexicaines, et a même réalisé ses propres mises en scène d’opéras. Mais on est ravi de le retrouver maintenant dans son répertoire d’origine : le bel canto. A l’Opéra Royal de Versailles, Villazon exhume des mélodies de Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini et Verdi avec l’Orchestre de chambre Nuevo mundo. Espérons que son timbre (grain brillant, aigu conquérant, précision de la diction) soit resté intact.
