Théâtre du Châtelet / création de James Thierrée
Petit-fils de Chaplin, comédien, acteur, danseur, acrobate, musicien et metteur en scène, James Thierrée est un artiste multiple, que l’Opéra de Paris avait invité en 2018 pour son ballet Frôlons. Room, la nouvelle pièce qu’il a imaginée avec La Compagnie du Hanneton, créée au Théâtre de Carouge en 2022 avant une tournée qui fait étape au Théâtre du Châtelet, illustre un joyeux mélange des genres. Entouré de treize musiciens circassiens dans un décor de chambre aux murs décatis, il explore les apories burlesques des langages – des mots, des notes, des corps. Au-delà de l’empreinte de l’art de son aïeul, James Thierrée développe un univers aux allures de cartoon, qui tisse au fil de la succession des saynètes une complicité avec le public, dans une veine ludique et festive qui n’a que faire des barrières entre les registres et les répertoires.
