Louis Gatta signe la mise en pièce de Ruy Blas Repetitas d’inspiration hugolienne. L’esthétique de la Compagnie Furieux du Jeu Dit crée spécifiquement des œuvres humoristiques à travers une approche ludique et inattendue des auteurs classiques. Un metteur en scène (Anthony Cantin) et son comédien principal (Sébastien Faure) s’arrêtent en génies du burlesque sur l’œuvre maîtresse du romantisme français, Ruy Blas de Victor Hugo. La fameuse tirade de la scène 2 de l’acte III occupe toute leur attention. En effet, c’est là que le valet Ruy Blas devenu Premier Ministre se fait grâce à sa parole de noblesse le détracteur de l’injustice et de la corruption. Animé d’un amour violent et platonique pour la Reine, il sert les intérêts d’une Espagne en déclin après la mort de Charles-Quint (1550-1558). Pour saisir les enjeux de ce moment stratégique : « Bon appétit, messieurs ! ô ministres intègres ! conseillers vertueux !… », ces truculents buveurs de vers déroulent l’intrigue et rejouent tour à tour les nombreux personnages de la pièce. Pour le plaisir et dans un saisissement du sens des plus loufoques et des plus joyeux en direction des spectateurs de notre temps.
