Théâtre des Champs-Elysées / chor. Pina Bausch et Akram Khan
En 1913, les murs du Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, nouvellement édifié, vibrèrent lors du scandale de la création du Sacre du Printemps de Stravinski et Nijinski. Cent ans plus tard, le même théâtre revisite cette histoire, avec plusieurs relectures de l’œuvre mythique. Cet hommage s’achève, au mois de juin, avec la version de Pina Bausch, créée en 1975, qui travaille sur l’épuisement – non feint – des interprètes et notamment de la figure de l’Elue. La chorégraphe est aujourd’hui partie, mais sa compagnie, le Tanztheater Wuppertal, continue de faire vivre cette œuvre emblématique du courant de la danse-théâtre, avec une sauvagerie qui réactualise, avec puissance, le caractère tribal de la musique de Stravinski.
Un Sacre métissé
Deux semaines plus tard, c’est l’Anglais Akram Khan qui revisite le Sacre, avec sa nouvelle pièce, iTMOI : le chorégraphe s’est entouré de trois compositeurs – Nitin Sawhney, Jocelyn Pook et Ben Frost – pour explorer le rapport à l’émotion proposé par la musique de Stravinski. Akram Khan présente également, à la fin du mois, Sacred monsters, qui porte bien son nom : dans cette pièce de 2006, le chorégraphe, figure phare du métissage entre la danse contemporaine et le kathak indien, partage le plateau avec la danseuse étoile Sylvie Guillem.
