L’Abbaye de Royaumont et sa saison musicale, programmée cette année du 29 août au 18 octobre, sont devenues depuis quelques années un espace sans équivalent de création pour les musiques du monde et improvisées. « C’est un laboratoire de croisements des genres musicaux que nous avons créé en 2000. A l’époque, c’était quelque chose de nouveau. Le but n’est pas d’additionner des composants, mais de créer un métalangage. Et au-delà des styles, ce qui m’importe c’est de faire se rencontrer des personnalités » précise Frédéric Deval, directeur du programme « Musiques orales et improvisées ». Premier temps fort 2009 de ce volet du festival : le week-end des 26 et 27 septembre avec en particulier les créations de « L’autre rive » du compositeur libanais Zad Moultaka et du spectacle « A quel Dieu parles-tu ? » réunissant les slameurs Djiz, Capitaine Slam, l’accordéoniste Antoine Girard et l’écrivain Valère Novarina. A suivre en octobre : Andy Emler (en résidence jusqu’en 2011 à la Fondation Royaumont) et son Megaoctet dans différentes formules, et le grand violoniste indien Subramaniam (les 10 et 11/10).
