Danseuse remarquée dès les années 80 auprès de grands chorégraphes, Laurence Levasseur est devenue en France une créatrice discrète. C’est du moins ce que l’on pourrait croire, si l’on occulte les actions militantes et l’engagement en faveur de la liberté d’expression développé depuis dix ans par sa compagnie en Asie centrale. Kazakhstan, Ouzbékistan, Tadjikistan, Afghanistan, autant de pays traversés, de rencontres, de témoignages récoltés, de créations réalisées avec des artistes locaux… Sang Blanc est le fruit de cette démarche. C’est aussi et avant tout un texte écrit par la chorégraphe, pièce théâtrale du même nom publiée en français, en russe et en anglais. Aujourd’hui, Sang Blanc devient le solo portée par Laurence elle-même, mêlant danse, chant et texte, puisant dans la réalité des territoires un hymne à la paix au-delà de son rôle de porte-voix et d’éveilleur de conscience.
