De l’inépuisable mine que forme l’œuvre de Mozart, le festival drômois tire chaque année, depuis 1989, une programmation remarquablement intelligente. S’intéresser aux « œuvres ultimes », comme il le fait cet été, c’est approcher l’aboutissement de la pensée musicale de Mozart, genre après genre : les dernières pages pour piano par exemple (par Jonathan Fournel le 14 juillet et Emmanuel Strosser, le 23 au lever du soleil) ou, plus rares, des pages de musique de chambre par des musiciens réunis autour de Philippe Bernold (du 20 au 24). Le flûtiste, directeur artistique du festival, sera également à la baguette pour l’ultime symphonie (Jupiter) avec l’Orchestre de l’Opéra national de Lyon, précédée d’œuvres pour flûte et orchestre avec Julien Beaudiment en soliste (15 juillet). Il dirigera également le Requiem, œuvre ultime par excellence, à la tête de l’Orchestre des Pays de Savoie et le Chœur d’oratorio de Lyon (le 8 juillet à Die).
