Disparu en 1994, le séditieux fondateur de l’Internationale situationniste reste l’une des références majeures des esprits contestant le tout communication, le fonctionnement globalisé des sociétés d’aujourd’hui. « Que dirait [Guy Debord] de notre monde s’il revenait parmi nous (…), lui, l’ennemi n°1 du Pouvoir et de l’Etat, des Politiques et du Médiatique ? », se demande David Ayala. Persuadé qu’il s’insurgerait contre les « mensonges sur lesquels reposent toutes nos sociétés d’ultra consommation et de haute technologie, de surmédiatisation et de soumission généralisée », le metteur en scène a souhaité porter à la scène divers extraits de l’œuvre du célèbre auteur de La Société du spectacle. Ceci à travers l’utilisation d’archives télévisuelles, cinématographiques et photographiques, mais aussi la création, pour l’occasion, de matériaux vidéo. Sept comédiens et un musicien prendront en charge cette représentation composée de séquences tragi-comiques, séquences mettant en perspective la pensée de Guy Debord et les événements « de la plus brûlante actualité ».
