CHANT ET MUSIQUE DE CHAMBRE / CACHAN
Le Klezmer, cette tradition musicale juive aujourd’hui toujours vivace, à New York notamment, exerce depuis toujours une certaine fascination sur les compositeurs de musique savante. Au début du xxe siècle, Mahler ou Schoenberg ne pouvaient qu’en être imprégnés dans la Vienne de l’époque, haut lieu des rencontres entre toutes les musiques. C’était cependant déjà le cas un siècle auparavant : c’est ce que montrent l’ensemble xviii-21 de Jean-Christophe Frisch et la soprano Cyrille Gerstenhaber en explorant les liens possibles entre la musique klezmer et celle de Schubert. Reprenant le programme récemment enregistré (disque Arion), leur lecture sur instruments d’époque croise lieder chantés en yiddish et mélodies juives étonnamment schubertiennes. De plus, ce qui ne gâche rien, le tout n’est pas dénué d’humour.
