Centre Culturel Houdremont / Conception Stefan Kinsman
Avec Searching for John, Stefan Kinsman déplace le spectateur au cœur de la vie de John Henry, son personnage de cow-boy solitaire, caché sous son grand chapeau et sa chemise à carreaux. Nous voici au Far West, assis à quelques centimètres de son cabanon de bois, voyeurs invisibles de son quotidien qui s’étire sous nos yeux. John Henry semble se la couler douce et nous contemplons son savoir-vivre… Et pourtant, c’est un spectacle plein de surprises qui va se déployer, car un deuxième personnage – la scénographie – va mettre son grain de sel et bousculer une histoire supposée solitaire. Les objets prennent vie, la maison danse, révélant d’astucieuses combines pour faire réagir l’acrobate. Avec la collaboration de Jani Nuutinen pour la conception du décor, et de Kim Marro pour le costume, Stefan Kinsman a su trouver son John, captivant et poétique.
