Christophe Rousset et ses Talens Lyriques ne quittent plus la fosse du Théâtre des Champs-Elysées ! Après La Calisto de Cavalli en mai, les revoilà pour la reprise de Semelé de Haendel dans la production mise en scène par David McVicar et découverte sur cette même scène en 2004, avec Minkowski et les musiciens du Louvre. L’ouvrage est désormais familier pour Rousset qui le dirigeait en ouverture de sa saison « Haendel » en septembre dernier au Théâtre de la Monnaie de Bruxelles dans une mise en scène du plasticien chinois Zhang Huan… Porter à la scène cet ouvrage hybride, à mi-chemin entre l’opéra et l’oratorio, est un véritable défi que le metteur en scène écossais relève avec élégance. Avec le retour, côté voix, de Richard Croft dans le rôle de Jupiter et avec deux nouvelles venues de choc et de charme qui ajoutent beaucoup à l’intérêt de cette reprise : Danielle De Niese dans le rôle-titre et Vivica Genaux dans le double rôle d’Ino et Juno.
