« C’est le solo qui propose le motif, et c’est à nous de travailler sur son altération.»
Comment situer ce nouveau spectacle ? Est-ce une création, une reprise, une recréation ?
C’est avant tout un espace de rencontre qui s’est créé entre plusieurs interprètes, à partir de la transmission d’un solo, issu d’une pièce de 1999 intitulée Partiellement effacé. Ce solo a été retransmis plusieurs fois à d’autres interprètes de façons différentes, à de nombreuses occasions. Aujourd’hui, il s’agit de trois parcours du solo mis en relation dans l’espace. A l’origine, ce solo était basé sur un travail de mémoire, d’empreinte, de trace, de vestige d’un corps, car il venait lui-même de la partition d’un duo. J’ai eu envie d’interroger les notions d’histoires, de résonances, de restes à travers cette pièce.
Quels danseurs seront présents dans ce spectacle ?
Il s’agit de danseurs qui ont traversé mon travail depuis presque une dizaine d’années : Brigitte Asselineau, qui l’a dansé elle-même, Antonin Lambert et Fabien Almakievicz, qui est plasticien et collabore avec moi à la conception de ce projet. Il y a tout un cheminement du plastique au sensible : trois espaces, trois bandes sons, trois interprétations, trois histoires, trois mémoires viennent se rencontrer. Ce sont les vestiges de ce que chacun peut ramener, et à partir de là on travaille à construire et recréer un espace, tout en conservant la matrice, avec aussi sur le plateau le duo avec Armelle Ricard. On retrouve sur le plateau toute une histoire de témoignages et de correspondances.
Où se situe le travail du plasticien ?
Avec ce travail, nous avons la possibilité de prolonger une recherche que l’on a entamée avec les pièces qui ont précédé et celles que l’on a créées au Forum de Blanc-Mesnil pendant nos quatre ans de résidence : Au nombre des choses, Par-dessus-bord et Vanishing Act. A chaque fois, c’était un travail dans le mouvement qui questionnait les pleins et les vides, la construction de l’image et de l’espace, la façon dont les choses se révèlent en confrontant les territoires intérieurs et des espaces extérieurs à partager. Fabien intervient comme interprète du solo et également avec des propositions que l’on va échanger plastiquement, puisqu’on va faire un traitement de l’espace du plateau, directement sur scène, très peu en studio. Ce sont des propositions croisées qui vont traverser, à travers les perceptions de chacun, l’origine des formes et des gestes, et créer un espace de frictions, de convergences parfois. Ces présences seront à la fois indépendantes et solidaires.
A travers ce titre, Je n’ai pas voulu mourir, qui parle ? Le solo, ou bien l’artiste, vous-même, sachant que cette pièce clôt une longue période de résidence au Blanc-Mesnil ?
C’est plutôt l’idée d’un projet récurrent qui ne veut pas s’achever, car le solo a été joué dans de nombreux endroits, il a toujours connu une sorte de survie, d’émergence, alors que la pièce dont il est issu n’a plus été jouée. C’est le solo qui propose le motif, et c’est à nous de travailler sur son altération.
C’est important de le préciser, car on peut penser que dans ce titre se cache aussi une forme de revendication à l’égard de la situation de la danse et des artistes.
Nous n’avons pas choisi de nous orienter dans cette direction, tout en l’évoquant nécessairement, de façon plus ou moins indirecte. La tension autour de choses qui sont en train de mourir est bien réelle. Mais malgré tout nous nous rencontrons dix ans après, et nous proposons l’idée qu’il y a encore un possible, des visions et des espaces à ouvrir ! Je n’ai pas voulu mourir aurait pu donner dans la symbolique du final, mais c’est une pièce qui s’impose tout simplement par rapport à la manière dont on a toujours configuré le rapport au plastique, à la scénographie, à la construction et à la déconstruction d’un espace, à l’arrivée d’un personnage… C’est avant tout un objet performatif, un peu comme Vanishing Act, qui pourrait passer d’un espace à l’autre, qui pourrait, dans la singularité, s’enchevêtrer à autre chose.
