Moussa et Mireille se sont connus à la caisse du supermarché dans lequel celle-ci travaille. Tombés sous le charme l’un de l’autre, ils écrivent les premières pages de leur histoire d’amour lorsque Moussa est rattrapé par son passé : repris de justice en cavale, il est renvoyé en prison. Mireille plonge alors dans la réalité du monde carcéral. Ayant, à plusieurs reprises, dirigé des ateliers au sein de maisons d’arrêt, Laurent Vacher a écrit Série B, Titre noir et provisoire à partir de ses propres expériences. « J’ai voulu donner écho aux bruits de portes et de clefs, explique l’auteur-metteur en scène. J’ai surtout souhaité raconter la profonde solitude que vivent les détenus mais aussi les surveillants, les familles et tous ceux qui traversent ces bâtiments du naufrage. » Sous sa direction, Jules Emmanuel Eyoum Deido, Marie-Aude Weiss, Dahirou Togo, Clara Dumond et Yves Nadot incarnent les différents personnages de cette histoire d’amour et de prison. Des personnages qui « se croisent et se frôlent », tentant de mettre fin à leur isolement.
