Mark rencontre Lulu et Robbie dans un supermarché, les achète et les ramène
chez lui, les abandonnant très vite pour entamer une cure de désintoxication.
Lulu et Robbie deviennent alors dealers d’ecstasy pendant que Mark s’attache à
Gary, jeune prostitué qui finira par payer le couple de paumés pour assouvir son
fantasme ultime? Dans l’Angleterre post-thatcherienne ravagée par la crise
économique, symbolique, politique et morale, les personnages de Mark Ravenhill
n?ont rien à envier aux héros de la déglingue inventés par les dramaturges de la
déréliction, de Berkoff à Sarah Kane. Dans un monde où tout est à vendre, seule
la mort a peut-être encore un prix? Jouant à la fois de la métaphore et de
l’incarnation, Simon Delétang compte sur ce paradoxe affirmé et soutenu par la
virtuosité des acteurs pour éviter les pièges du naturalisme, afin que les
situations évoquées soient en même temps ressenties et mises à distance par le
spectateur.
