« Il est temps de mettre Simone de Beauvoir, dont Le Deuxième sexe, au programme de philosophie et comme livre de chevet. Il est temps de redonner aux femmes le goût de conquérir le monde plutôt que de s’en protéger, de refuser tout destin obligé, y compris celui de victime, d’apprendre à dire non. », écrit Brigitte Bladou, qui a choisi de rendre hommage à la « Reine mère » du féminisme en retraçant les étapes de sa vie. Entre musiques et chansons d’avant et d’après-guerre, le spectacle fait revivre le Castor, comme l’appelait Jean-Paul Sartre. « Ses amours, passions, combats politiques et écrits sont encore aujourd’hui d’une brûlante actualité. Hier Simone de Beauvoir a soulevé les foules, libéré nos mères, nos grands-mères du carcan. Elle appelait à un espoir de liberté qui laissait place à la parole, la parole enfouie, engourdie par des siècles d’ignorance, d’oppression : la parole des femmes. » Entre la fureur des affects et la rigueur du concept, se précise le portrait d’une femme tout feu tout flamme ! Pour Simone de Beauvoir, donc, ce spectacle vaut comme vibrant hommage, mais aussi comme invitation à continuer à suivre son exemple, puisque, « se vouloir libre, c’est aussi vouloir les autres libres ».
