Un programme « sur mesure » pour la grande soprano colorature allemande Simone Kermes, ancienne élève d’Helga Forner et Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau et diva montante rompue aux ouvrages de Haendel et Vivaldi. Des compositeurs qu’elle a déjà abordés au disque, souvent avec le Venice Baroque Orchestra dirigé par Andrea Marcon, en particulier récemment pour la révélation marquante de L’Andromeda liberata, opéra disparu de Vivaldi. La belle Simone Kermes, dont on peut noter la ressemblance avec la comédienne Meryl Streep, a aussi beaucoup chanté et enregistré Haendel, par exemple dans le rôle-titre de Rodelinda ou dans le rôle d’Ottone dans Griselda de Vivaldi. Une soirée placée sous le signe de la virtuosité et de la jubilation vocales associées aux parfums acidulés des savoureuses cordes de l’orchestre vénitien. À noter que les mêmes musiciens accompagneront, le lendemain au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, la mezzo tchèque Magdalena Kozená, veritable star mondiale du chant, dont la voix charnelle s’épanouira dans un florilège d’airs de Vivaldi au TCE.
