Flottant parmi les fronces d’une combinaison jaune soleil, le nez écarlate et la bouille noire, les deux pieds plantés au fond de godillots peluchés rouges…. C’est ainsi que le clown de Slava Polunin est né à la scène, au tournant des années quatre-vingts : tendre rêveur ou cynique tyrannique selon l’humeur, naïf pensif à l’envers du monde, il avait pour ascendance la mélancolie songeuse du mime Marceau et l’humanité froissée de Chaplin. Depuis, le clown russe a parcouru le monde, rejoint quelques congénères pour fonder l’illustre Théâtre Liceidei, organisé plusieurs rassemblements monstres, créé une « Académie des fous », un « Nouveau carnaval »… et imaginé l’inimaginable : le « Slava’s SnowShow ». Lové aux creux de quelques douces rêveries encore inconnues, tout près des territoires d’enfance, l’univers de Slava Polunin dérive au gré de fantasmagories hallucinantes, qui affolent tous les sages repères orthonormés de la vie tout en étant solidement nouées aux piquets du quotidien.
Un univers surréaliste, visuel et musical
Ici, le temps s’évapore en myriades colorées, la pesanteur s’envole au lointain brumeux d’improbables chimères. Même les séides de la raison grise mine finissent par s’égarer dans les failles béantes de l’imagination. Bulles de savon, toiles d’araignée géantes, tempête de neige, rafales de rires et performances dérisoires envahissent les yeux et contaminent chacun au plus intime, chatouillant le plaisir de jouer, trop souvent étouffé sous la poussière des années. Accompagné d’une cohorte d’étranges créatures vertes, le maître russe mène la danse en musique et relance chaque soir l’enjeu, puisqu’il interdit les répétitions. Mariant théâtre visuel, mime et art clownesque, ces drôles de clowns glissent par métamorphoses d’un tableau à l’autre, croisent incartades burlesques et dévoilements solitaires, et zigzaguent gaiement entre les flocons rieurs d’un hiver décidément bien étrange. D’un geste, ils réveillent un monde enfoui, une émotion têtue, la magie d’une utopie semée en route… ravissant les sens par leurs divagations surréalistes et poétiques.
