Dans Daphnis et Chloé, créé en 2013, commande de Brigitte Lefèvre à celui qui allait devenir son bref successeur, pas de deux tendres et virevoltants, portés aériens, longs pas glissés se succèdent. De courses en suspens, de cambrés renversants en étirements langoureux, la danse est jolie, juvénile et même jubilatoire. Le décor signé Daniel Buren ajoute à cette impression radieuse. Ses formes géométriques de couleurs vives, rehaussées par les superbes éclairages de Madjid Hakimi qui joue sur les complémentaires, est un vrai régal pour les yeux. On ne présente plus le Boléro de Maurice Béjart et sa chorégraphie envoûtante et mystérieuse, dont la sensualité torride affole tous les cœurs. L’homme (ou la femme suivant les distributions), proie inaccessible sur la table rouge entourée de quarante danseurs, met en jeu la montée du désir dans une des chorégraphies les plus érotiques du XXe siècle. Créée en 1961, la pièce est un chef-d’œuvre du répertoire béjartien.
