Qu’est-ce qui vous a amenée à vous intéresser au thème de la nature ?
Blanca Li : Avec notre société moderne, on est en train de détruire ce qui nous entoure. Ce spectacle est une réflexion autour de ces évolutions, qui englobent le changement climatique et la pollution, et aussi peut-être sur ce qu’on peut faire à notre niveau, avec de petits gestes. C’est un enjeu majeur… Mais je ne veux pas faire un spectacle dramatique ou complètement noir, au contraire : je veux montrer ce que la nature a de magnifique. Avec les danseurs, nous réalisons tous ensemble un travail de recherche, d’improvisation. Je peux leur demander, par exemple, comment ils ressentent l’eau. La danse est un langage abstrait, et nous devons parvenir à faire ressentir la nature avec notre corps – l’eau, l’air, la beauté.

Quelle scénographie envisagez-vous ?
B.L. : Je travaille depuis longtemps avec la vidéo : c’est une manière pour moi de construire un décor. Je l’utilise pour créer un monde irréel. J’aime jouer avec la lumière pour créer des sensations très étranges, surprenantes. Dans Solstice, je cherche à créer des univers naturels.
