« Caroline et moi nous sommes rencontrées alors que nous dansions respectivement chez Maguy Marin et Pina Bausch. Quinze ans plus tard, avec des expériences diverses et variées dont celle de la maternité, nous nous retrouvons à Berlin. Nous nous découvrons une pratique commune : la fréquentation de la salle de fitness. ». Tel est le point de départ de Soma de Raphaëlle Delaunay. Son arrivée : l’hédonisme forcené et volontaire pour se construire un corps satisfaisant, voire un autre soi-même à travers lui. « L’anagramme de soma est maso » fait remarquer non sans humour Raphaëlle. « Je transpire donc je suis » : serait-ce donc une problématique exclusive aux danseurs ? Pas si sûr, répond Raphaëlle qui « infiltre » la salle de sport de son quartier pour en faire un objet d’étude et de réflexion sur le corps et ses pratiques. Comment faire dévier le cours d’un exercice sportif vers la danse ? Comment accéder à ce petit supplément d’âme qui fait basculer le geste jusqu’à la danse ? À la recherche du sensible, mais aussi de l’intime, des témoignages de femmes sur leur rapport au corps viennent nourrir la pièce.
