Plages hawaïennes, sombreros mexicains, ombres faustiennes et opéra visuel technologiques : les ambiances sont nombreuses dans ce spectacle vibrant et fantaisiste. Philippe Decouflé continue ici ses recherches sur la lumière en détournant l’ombre dans tous les sens du terme. D’abord déconstruite par le verbe du poète Claude Ponti, elle joue ensuite de ses propres apparences et nous perd dans le labyrinthe de ses faux-semblants. Les effets visuels s’enchaînent sans que l’on y prenne garde et l’on traverse les différents états de l’ombre jusqu’à l’abstraction finale : un moment de magie où le corps s’efface au profit de la lumière et de la couleur. Ici, le corps et son mouvement sont au service du propos du spectacle, et la virtuosité glacée remarquée lors des précédents Iris n’est plus au goût du jour. La pièce y gagne en épaisseur et la légèreté affichée dès le début n’est là que pour mieux nous perdre : jamais l’ombre sur scène n’était apparue si lumineuse.
