La programmation de cette dix-neuvième édition met l’accent sur les croisements et rencontres entre musiciens d’univers différents mais aussi sur des créations mêlant la musique à la danse, au théâtre ou aux arts de l’image. « On ne peut séparer la musique du goût de l’urgence, d’un état d’attention au monde, et ses gestes esthétiques les plus sensibles » déclare Fabien Barontini, directeur du festival, au moment de lever le voile sur sa remuante programmation. Treize soirées sont à l’affiche dont on retient en priorité l’hommage rendu par Neneh Cherry (chant) à son père Don Cherry, zébulon génial d’un free jazz ouvert sur les musiques du monde entier (« Dance in the light », le 29, en ouverture, au Théâtre de Cachan), la carte postale sonore et vivante envoyée du Vision festival de New York par un double plateau passionnant composé du trio de Rob Brown (sax alto) et du quartet du contrebassiste William Parker (le 30 à Saint-Mandé), et enfin, une soirée autour de la voix avec l’hommage débridé à Cole Porter de l’italienne Maria Laura Baccarini, avec Régis Huby au violon et aux arrangements, puis le nouveau projet « Klang la Belle » de la contrebassiste et chanteuse Sarah Murcia, entourée de dix musiciens parmi les plus créatifs de la scène française pour une relecture inventive et iconoclaste de classiques pop-rock de Bowie aux Bee Gees (le 4 février au Théâtre Antoine Vitez d’Ivry)… A suivre !
