Après avoir puisé son inspiration dans l’Orient arabe, voici que la saxophoniste continue à envisager sa musique sous la forme d’un nomadisme, accompagnée par le saz (luth à manche long) de l’Égyptien Abdallah Abozekry et des musiciens qui la suivent dans ses échappées transfrontalières. « Sous tous les toits du monde » dit un titre de son album qui se veut, à l’inverse du nôtre, ouvert et tolérant aux beautés de l’ailleurs. Tour à tour portée par la grâce et la fougue, la transe et la contemplation, Sophie Alour a construit un répertoire autour de l’exil — philosophique comme matériel — qui puisse être non pas vécu sous le sceau du drame mais comme un cheminement vers l’autre, vers soi et vers la joie.
