Omniprésente en 2008 sur les plus grandes scènes lyriques, du Staatsoper de Vienne au Metropolitan Opera de New York, Sophie Koch fait une pause parisienne pour un concert humanitaire dans le cadre insolite du Théâtre Marigny. La mezzo chante au profit de Colline en ré/La Chaîne de l’Espoir, associations oeuvrant pour l’apport de soins aux enfants malades dans le monde entier. « Parce que nous sommes adultes, citoyens, parents, à l’abri des besoins les plus élémentaires, nous avons le devoir d’aider les enfants à se construire et devons construire pour eux un monde digne de les accueillir », déclare Sophie Koch. Elle est accompagnée au piano par Sophie Raynaud pour chanter Mozart, Schubert, Offenbach, Berlioz ou Strauss. Richard Strauss, un compositeur qui lui est familier à l’opéra, mais que l’on retrouvera aussi au programme de son nouvel enregistrement à paraître très prochainement chez Cascavelle.
