Le projet est né du « contrecoup des différents attentats qui ont eu lieu en France et partout dans le monde ces cinq dernières années ». L’auteur et metteur en scène Charly Breton y dévoile l’itinéraire intérieur d’un jeune homme qui se radicalise et projette de commettre un attentat au nom d’un dieu nommé l’Ogre. L’enjeu n’est pas d’expliquer, mais plutôt d’éclairer la complexité des enjeux du basculement vers « l’offre radicale ». Instruit par de nombreuses études, le texte s’inspire des pistes muries dans les champs scientifique, psychanalytique, philosophique et littéraire pour faire entendre « cette chose difficile : la logique radicale fonctionne comme un sédatif, elle apaise l’angoisse d’exister des individus qui y adhèrent ». Sous la forme d’un monologue où s’avancent plusieurs strates, où le protagoniste fait sienne les paroles d’autres, Sous l’orme vise à « faire éprouver un processus de transformation plus qu’un état de fait ». Le seul en scène est porté par le talentueux comédien Guillaume Costanza.
