La venue de la Comédie-Française à Bobigny, annoncée si brutalement, dénigre de façon complètement incongrue et incompréhensible à la fois l’identité, la mémoire et la compétence artistique de la MC 93, dirigée par Patrick Sommier depuis 2000. Une compétence reconnue et appréciée à sa juste valeur par le public, quoi qu’on puisse en dire. La MC 93 est un théâtre de référence, ouvert sur le monde, attentif à ses questionnements, un théâtre qui a fait découvrir à son public de nombreux artistes remarquables, novateurs et exigeants. On a pu applaudir sur cette scène, parmi beaucoup d’autres, Lev Dodine, Christoph Marthaler, Frank Castorf, Arpad Schilling… On pense soudain à ce filet de tennis qui traverse la scène dans Vie et Destin de Vassili Grossman, brillamment adapté par Lev Dodine, à cette balle qui s’immobilise dans les bras d’un comédien, donnant le signal de l’entrée dans la représentation, extraordinairement dense et émouvante. La programmation 2008-2009, elle aussi magnifiquement prometteuse, est ponctuée de temps forts, dont le Standard Idéal, avec de jeunes artistes européens, – Antu Romero Nunes, Alvis Hermanis, Alexandra Wilke…. C’est un théâtre aussi qui travaille régulièrement au cœur de son territoire, en Seine-Saint-Denis.
Un théâtre comme celui-ci, à la fois riche de sa mémoire et questionnant avec acuité l’actualité du monde, serait-il menacé ? Est-on dans une époque si imprévisible ? Plus grave encore, est-ce un signe des temps ? La politique culturelle s’apparente-t-elle aujourd’hui à une OPA agressive, au mépris de toute concertation ? Nous n’osons le croire, et espérons au minimum un retour au dialogue.
