On pénètre dans Speakeasy (du nom des bars clandestins qui faisaient les grandes heures de la prohibition) comme on entre dans un film. Il y a du Scorsese, du Tarantino, des mafieux, des gangsters, des prostituées, des flingues, de l’alcool et des cigarettes. Mais il y a surtout de la virtuosité et un savant casting d’interprètes réunis autour de Régis Truchy : main à main, cerceau, Roue Cyr, mât chinois, tout est bon pour nous transporter dans des scènes où des personnages hauts en couleur se disputent un territoire comme on se dispute une femme. La tension est palpable, mais le burlesque n’est pas loin ! Ça danse, ça s’envole dans tous les sens, le tout porté par un cocktail explosif de sons et de musiques savamment mixés par les Chinese Man, groupe de DJ de trip hop puisant dans des références aussi cinématographiques que télévisuelles, ainsi que dans des sources musicales populaires.
