La sortie de “Très Très Fort” (Crammed Discs) au début de l’année fut un choc. Armés de leurs incroyables bécanes et de leurs instruments faits maison, les quatre chanteurs guitaristes du Staff Benda Bilili ont offert au public bien plus qu’une légende personnelle (ces musiciens originaires de Kinshasa sont paraplégiques et s’entourent d’une rythmique d’enfants sans logis). Car c’est aussi et surtout leur musique, mixant allègrement accents funk, rumba congolaise, rythmes afro-cubains et nostalgie bluesy, qui a su séduire les quatre coins du monde. Plus qu’une curiosité, un orchestre captivant.
