ÉLÉPHANT PANAME / RÉCITAL
On sait peu que Stéphanie d’Oustrac avait pour grand-oncle Jacques de la Presle, compositeur français (1888-1969) et auteur de nombreuses mélodies. Peut-être vient de là son appétence pour ce répertoire qu’elle défend avec passion au fil des ans. En témoigne ce concert donné sous le dôme de l’Éléphant Paname avec Antoine Palloc au piano. Francis Poulenc, que la mezzo a chanté maintes fois, s’invite avec ses délicieux Poèmes de Louise de Vilmorin et La Dame de Monte-Carlo d’après Cocteau, témoignant du goût du compositeur pour la poésie. Claude Debussy n’est pas en reste, s’inspirant de Baudelaire dans Jet d’eau, Recueillement et La Mort des amants, tout comme Massenet avec son Werther d’après Goethe, dont Stéphanie d’Oustrac chantera le fameux « air des lettres ». Ravel, lui, a eu recours à Colette et à Franc-Nohain pour L’Enfant et les sortilèges et L’Heure espagnole. Musique ou paroles ? La guerre n’aura pas lieu, elles sont à égalité.
