Cette troisième édition des Sujets à Vif s’annonce belle et vigoureuse : des danseurs confirmés travaillent avec des artistes qui débutent, des collaborations inattendues voient le jour, des propositions étonnantes sont explorées. Chacun des quatre programmes comprend deux pièces courtes. On découvrira d’abord la proposition du dramaturge suisse Mathieu Bertholet. Il s’est adressé à Cindy Van Acker, qui chorégraphiera un duo – interprété par Mathieu Bertholet lui-même et par la jeune danseuse Perrine Valli – autour de la figure de Rosa Luxembourg. Ensuite, la comédienne Agnès Sourdillon interprétera avec Marcus Brisson le texte qu’elle a demandé au jeune auteur Arno Bertina de lui écrire. Pour le programme « B », la commande a été adressée à Philippe Ménard et Thomas Lebrun. Philippe Ménard, jongleuse – le féminin est dû à une identité de genre dont l’artiste a abordé le changement d’une façon fine et troublante dans ses précédents spectacles –, a proposé au poète Anne-James Chaton de la rejoindre pour une performance « à deux artistes et une seule voix ». Thomas Lebrun invite le circassien brésilien Alexandre Bado et chorégraphie pour lui une pièce forte de leurs différences et du regard que chacun d’eux porte sur l’autre.
Mémoire de scène
Pour le programme « C », la chorégraphe Olivia Grandville convie la comédienne Léone Nogarède, sa mère, qui jouait à Avignon dans La Tragédie de Richard II sous la direction de Vilar en 1947, et la danseuse Catherine Legrand – toutes deux ont déjà dansé ensemble à Avignon lorsqu’elles interprétaient les œuvres de Dominique Bagouet – : ensemble sur le plateau, elles convoquent une foule de souvenirs pour nous raconter « leur » Avignon. L’autre commande est adressée à la comédienne Ariane Ascaride : elle fait appel au chorégraphe Thierry Thieû Niang et à l’écrivain Marie Desplechin pour composer un « rêve éveillé » autour du Songe d’une nuit d’été. Le dernier programme commencera par une performance mise en scène par Christophe Fiat : il poursuit le travail entamé avec Laurent Sauvage, cette fois autour de la figure de Richard Wagner, dans un environnement musical créé par Pierre Yves Macé. Enfin, une commande est adressée à Foofwa d’Imobilité, qui fut un danseur emblématique chez Merce Cunningham. Avec Antoine Lengo, il se lance dans le projet de « composer une chorégraphie de Jean-Luc Godard, sans Jean-Luc Godard ».
