Premier venu dans le monde du hip hop, Nasser Martin-Gousset fait l’ouverture du festival Suresnes Cités Danse avec dix danseurs hip hop choisis pour l’occasion. Un monde nouveau pour ce chorégraphe qui emmène souvent ses danseurs sur les rives de cultures populaires, qu’elles soient cinématographiques ou musicales, et qui s’exprime ici à travers I Want You de Marvin Gaye (voir notre entretien). Autre invitée surprise : Joëlle Bouvier. Longtemps complice de Régis Obadia qui a déjà tenté l’aventure du hip hop à Suresnes, Joëlle Bouvier se lance dans une forme courte pour cinq danseurs en s’inspirant de la culture japonaise par le biais du bunraku et de la littérature. Elle partage la soirée avec Pierre Rigal, un autre nouveau venu. Reconnu pour d’étonnants solos (Erection et Press), il sait faire surgir des situations de corps pour le moins singulières, portées par une scénographie ou des lumières très travaillées. Fort d’un parcours dans le sport de haut niveau, mais aussi dans le cinéma, son Road-movie chorégraphique saura embarquer la virtuosité des danseurs de hip hop dans une folle course poursuite, dans l’explosion de leur propre jeunesse et de leur fougue à peine contenue. Depuis le bitume de leur courte expérience de danseurs jusqu’à l’Asphalte poétique et absurde de Pierre Rigal, tout est possible, dans ce programme de variations dédiées à la rencontre.
Cités Danse Connexions
Le festival offre désormais une visibilité accrue au travail mené sur l’année avec Cités Danse Connexions, son pôle de production, de diffusion et de transmission de la danse hip hop. Développé au sein même du Théâtre Jean Vilar, cet espace, auquel le chorégraphe Sébastien Lefrançois est actuellement associé, accompagne les professionnels au travers de formations techniques et d’un pôle ressource. Aujourd’hui, les premiers travaux émanant de ce centre sortent de leur cocon pour se confronter au public. L’accent est mis sur des travaux personnels, notamment des solos. Ceux-ci apparaissent comme des moments décisifs dans le parcours des danseurs, comme une première mise à nu, un premier acte de création personnel. C’est le cas par exemple pour Céline Lefèvre, dont la carrière d’interprète s’est développée à travers de nombreux styles, du hip hop au classique, en passant par le jazz et le contemporain. Aujourd’hui, son solo au titre évocateur Juste un cygne, propose la naissance d’une jeune femme, une prise de conscience pour être soi-même. Un chemin que prennent également, dans les mêmes conditions, les danseurs White Fish et Otuawan Nyong. A côté de ces « premières fois », on retrouve quelques « habitués » du festival, comme Sébastien Lefrançois dans la création qu’il avait présenté l’an dernier, Roméos et Juliettes, et Raphaëlle Delaunay, dans une toute nouvelle pièce.
