Etabli à Cardiff, au Pays de Galles, depuis 1985, le Nofitstate Circus est l’une des principales compagnies de cirque britannique. Internationalement connue, cette troupe multiculturelle réunit des artistes venant du Pays de Galles, d’Argentine, d’Italie, de Finlande, de France, d’Angleterre et d’Australie. Chacun amène ses techniques et son talent et les membres de la compagnie partagent tout, le travail, le quotidien, les loisirs et les peines. Voyageant en camions et en caravanes, vivant comme une vraie famille, le Nofitstate Circus retrouve sur scène ce même esprit de solidarité et de complicité. Tabú, my fear and yours, écrit et mis en scène par Firenza Guidi, explore un tabou courant, souvent invisible et méconnu : la peur. « C’est seulement quand apparaît une personne qui ne connaît pas la peur que l’on peut recommencer à vivre. » dit Firenza Guidi qui a imaginé l’histoire d’Amaranta pour ses complices circassiens et musiciens.
Dépasser la peur
Amaranta et les siens vivent dans un monde pourri par la pluie incessante et le manque d’amour. La peur ferme les cœurs et les esprits. Mais Amaranta cherche en hauteur « un endroit pour dormir au milieu des nuages » et trouve enfin le moyen d’échapper à la torpeur et à la peur qui régnaient au sol. Le spectacle se déroule au milieu et au-dessus du public et donne naissance à un univers dans lequel les spectateurs sont invités à se déplacer. « De ce chaos artistique rythmé et maîtrisé par un orchestre endiablé s’échappent des images frissonnantes et une énergie qu’on emporte avec soi. » Les circassiens partagent leur victoire sur la peur avec le public. Peur du vide, peur des autres, peur d’aimer, peur d’oser : le Nofitstate Circus fait voltiger nos communes angoisses dans les hauteurs de leur talent et les transforme en lumineuse énergie.
